My mother, my best friend…I miss you greatly each and every day! I miss your voice, your beautiful face, and holding your hand. Thank you for allowing me to care for you these past 10 years…I know it wasn’t easy letting go of your independence, and it makes me happy that you put so much trust in me. I took caring for you very seriously, and I know you wanted me there more often near the end of your time here on earth, and I’m sorry if I let you down in that area, but please know it wasn’t because I didn’t care…you were forever in the forefront of my mind (and I didn’t tell you every time I called the nurses station either!!!)!
Thank you so much for every sacrifice you have ever made for me, and for teaching me to be strong, courageous, optimistic and mostly, how to love. For the remainder of my days, I’m left to carry this huge void in my heart that was once your presence, so to fill that void, I make you this promise…
I promise that I will continue to make you proud…I will make a point to take better care of myself, and I will not settle for anything less than I deserve and desire, and I will achieve greatness and success at all I put my head, hands, and heart to. I will make every effort to provide for Kylie to my fullest capabilities, and I will prepare her for her life, so she may live it with great zest and vigor!
With an angel like you looking over us, I know we’ll be alright! Your life was at it’s toughest your last year here on earth, and my only true calmness comes from knowing that you are no longer suffering. I know you’re dancing your ass off, eating whatever the hell you please, and, if they allow/have it…I’m sure you’re puffin’ away on your Viceroy’s!
Thank you for all of the millions of photos, cherished mementos, and all of the great memories you have left behind…you were a diamond in the rough, my best friend, and my love for you will never EVER die!!!
With Admiration, Your Daughter, Corey

‘Elaine’ was very special to me! I just found out about her ‘passing’; and, she will be missed! Despite any circumstances, we always kept in touch; exchanging ideas; and, trying to understand the irony of ‘life’ with a similar ‘sense of humor’! ‘Elaine’, you have earned your spot in the blessed protection of ‘eternity’; and, I will always remember you laughing and being happy…….Bob Bales

Corrie-Brian-So thankful I could be there for at least part of the service. I’m sorry I couldn’t stay till the end. I was afraid if I started sharing memories, I wouldn’t know where to stop. I’m thankful I was able to provide her with her last few rompers when they quit selling them in the stores. Having her next door, I knew I never had anything to be worried about. She took care of Walter for us (Jimmie’s gold fish), convinced us to get Charlie (our Schnoodle, Beagle) by promising she would always take care of him when we had to leave town. Handled with ease Jimmie’s slit wrist after putting his hand through our front door. Amongst the best were our summer cocktails over the fence and those fabulous cookouts. She could have stocked a grocery store with the groceries in her downstairs pantry. AND-you better be sure if you borrowed something, you returned the EXACT same item! I.E. If you borrowed a large egg-don’t be returning a medium egg. She had the best view of the court and watched out for EVERYONE! She also knew everything that was going on from one end of the court to the other. I could write a book of our memories. I’m so thankful that I was able to see her and catch up over the last couple years. I will forever hear her voice in my head every time she called me or I saw her. It was never Kathie-it was always Pawwwwter! 🙂 Every year in January, we watch our wedding video. She is there, having a ball and dancing up a storm! I will miss my annual birthday card with the lottery ticket and falling confetti when I opened it. Wearing my rompers will never feel the same again, but I promise to make you proud Elaine! I’ll miss you big time Schetty, but will forever hold you close to my heart! Thanks for being such a great friend.

i will always remember coming over to the house in Hanover Park and walking in and “mom” would call Corey and us up to Kitchen to find out what we were up to and within minutes, we were all cracking up over something funny mom would say or how she gave Corey problems in the typical mother fashion. “Mom” will be missed but will live on forever in our wonderful memories.
